Comfort in the dental chair with sedation dentistry in Colorado
As dental providers, we are aware of the dread that is felt by many at the thought of an impending appointment. For some, this sense of fear or anxiety may just be worrying about potential problems. For others, this may be a deep-rooted fear that stems from bad experiences in the past. At our Colorado office, we offer sedation for patients to feel comfortable during their visit.
Dental anxiety is quite common. Most people are uncomfortable when they are in a position of vulnerability, as is the case when you are in the dental chair. We want all our patients to feel at ease when they are in our office. If you have any feelings of anxiety, it is important to discuss them.
Managing dental anxiety is different for every patient. We have many years of experience helping you work through the process and alleviate your fears. For some patients, we find that discussing the specifics of the planned procedure and walking them through the process is enough to calm the nerves. For other patients, we may recommend IV sedation.
IV sedation is a safe and effective method for addressing moderate to severe dental anxiety. Our team has a licensed anesthetist who visits our office to administer and oversee IV sedation, for optimal patient safety. Because the sedative is delivered intravenously, the effects are felt immediately. Patients are conscious during IV sedation, but will have no memory of their treatment. This state of deep relaxation often feels like a deep sleep. During the treatment, we will continually monitor vital signs. Patients who opt for IV sedation will need to arrange for transportation to and from their procedure.
There is a more relaxing way to experience dental work. Please contact our team today at (855) 233-0023 if you would like to learn more about sedation dentistry and decide if it is right for you.Back to Sedation Dentistry Page
